Library
MPEI’s library was founded in 1930, located in a four-floors building, an area more than 8712 .
Today, the library counts around 1,5 million items in different languages: books, magazines, periodicals, historical editions, research reports and dissertations.
The library has state-of-art equipment and variety of electronic catalogue databases.
The spacious reading room offers ideal conditions for self-study and has a complementary wireless connection.

Sports facilities
MPEI students have many opportunities to work out, as the University has a sports centre equipped with modern infrastructure.
Students can play football, volleyball, basketball, badminton, table tennis and practice shooting. There are several combat classes students can attend, as well as group fitness sessions.
Students can also use the stadium, the gym, the aerobics, fitness and martial arts rooms as well as the sauna and solarium.
MPEI boasts a swimming pool, which is one of the best in Moscow.
Stadium “Energy” is the most popular sport place, which includes a football field, jogging lanes, volleyball and basketball courts.
The pool and the gym are open every day from 7.00 a.m. to 11 p.m. Students can purchase a subscription to the gym with a 20% discount.
Restaurants and coffee shops
Around the University there are a lot of places to have a meal. In each building there are canteens, cafes or kiosks.
In the main building on the ground floor you can buy a full lunch, on the 1-st floor buy pizza or sandwich, on the 3-rd floor- traditional pancakes.

Jeffrey’s Coffee – the largest network of student time-coffee houses. Here you pay only for time, coffee, sweets and a wonderful atmosphere you get absolutely free!
Additional facilities
Banks, payment cards.
On campus, you should be prepared to pay for most services in cash. An increasing number of restaurants and shops, however, is now accepting credit cards.
Most of the banks are located next to the metro station “Aviamotornaya”, at the crossroads. The best rate has VTB-bank and Sberbank.
VTB-bank opening hours: Mondays-Fridays 9.00a.m to 8.00p.m, on Saturdays from 10.00a.m to 5.00p.m. ATM 24 hours per day.
Sberbank opening hours: Mondays-Fridays 8.30a.m to 7.30p.m, on Saturdays from 10.00a.m to 6.00p.m. ATM 24 hours per day.
Internet
You need a password to use free Wi-Fi on campus in the main building and in the library. At the student accommodation, you will need to pay a small monthly fee to be able to surf on the Internet in your room.
Photocopying services.
You can print out documents or make photocopies, for small fee, in a special section of the library or on the 1 floor building M or in the 1 floor of mail building.
